Community

Through your membership with the Canadian Association of Instructional Designers, you become part of a broader network of professionals in the field of instructional design from coast, to coast, to coast.  This connectivity facilitates the exchanging of ideas, discussion and debate on challenges and current issues, and professional camaraderie among peers.
You gain access to the Members’ only area of our online community, through our website, and have the opportunity to contribute to the work of the Association in advancing its Mission and Objectives

 

Credibility

Certification continues to be essential to providing instructional designers with the credentials and credibility that attest to the quality of their professional practice, through the experience, education, and demonstrated competencies required of instructional designers, as outlined in the ACCP-CAID Instructional Design Competencies.
By becoming a Certified ACCP-CAID Member, you signal the recognition by your peers and Canada’s professional body for instructional designers, that the quality of your work is acknowledged and attested to, as are your capabilities across the Competencies.

 

Visibility

As a Certified Member, you have earned the right to designate yourself as a Certified Instructional Designer in Canada, and to add the post-nominal formula “ACCP-CAID Member,” increasing the visibility of your professional status and credentials.
Further, you receive a Certificate of Competency, and are entitled to use the Certified Member badge.

 

Professional
Development

Since its inception, ACCP-CAID has been committed to the professional development of instructional designers in Canada.  In the Events Calendar, you will find offerings from the association and links to external events that may be of interest to members. We continue to explore new avenues for offering relevant professional development opportunities and resources to our members, as part of our member consultation and listening process. 

 

Job Postings

We facilitate professional and career development and advancement of our membership through our job board and social media channels, providing visibility for new opportunities in the field to our membership.

Our Seal

Upon obtaining Membership to ACCP-CAID you will receive a Certificate of Membership with the Seal

Currently (2024-25) Annual dues are $90.00 per year and the membership year runs from January 1 to December 31.

Renewal Period is November & December.

New Members pay the following in their 1st year, depending on when they are accepted:

  • January, February, March: $90
  • April, May, June: $70
  • July, August, September, October: $50
  • November, December: $90 (valid for these months and the following membership year)
