Become a Board Member

If you are a member and are interested in advancing the mission of ACCP-CAID, consider becoming a board member. Each role is essential in order to promote the development of members and the profession in the different environments in which instructional design is exercised. Below are descriptions of the current vacancies. For more information or to apply, please send an email.

All board members (with the exception of Past President) are elected for two-year terms.
  • Elected in even-numbered years (2024, 2026, …): President, Secretary, Counsellors 1, 3, 5
  • Elected in odd-numbered years (2023, 2025, …): Vice-President, Treasurer, and Counsellors 2, 4
    (*)The Development Officer Position is managed by the Board and is not an elected position.
  • The president officially represents the Association and is its sole official spokesperson.
  • They call and preside over meetings.
  • The president may appoint another officer to act in their place ex officio.
  • The president presents an annual report of the activities of the Association at the annual general meeting.
  • The vice-president must possess the same skill set as the president since he or she is required to assume the functions of the president as needed.
  • The vice-president replaces the president in all functions of that position whenever the president is absent or unable to fulfill his or her duties. (in which case the vice-president has the same powers as the president).
  • The vice-president assists the president and management to achieve the objectives set by the Association.
  • The secretary acts as secretary at all meetings.
  • The secretary prepares and signs the minutes of the annual general meeting and ensures that they are provided to members.
  • They also prepare and sign the minutes of all other meetings.
  • The secretary ensures that notices of meetings and any other notices are communicated to the officers and other members of the Association.
  • The secretary assumes responsibility for maintaining the archives, documents, and records of the Association, with the exception of those relating to financial matters.
  • The treasurer is responsible for the use of the funds, assets and securities of the Association.
  • The treasurer is responsible for maintaining the books and records relating to the financial operations of the Association.
  • They ensure that bills are paid and monies owed to the Association are collected.
  • The treasurer is the Chair of the Membership Committee
    • This committee maintains the membership list.
    • It maintains the membership section of the website and other membership records.
    • It arranges for new member applications to be assessed.
    • It manages the preparation and distribution of membership certificates and seals.
  • Contribute and execute the ACCP-CAID communication plan and prepare communications for distribution with members (Email and social media).
  • Assist with technologies used by the Board and ACCP-CAID business including managing the website and technology infrastructure.
  • Plan, organize, prepare and run ACCP-CAID events (MasterClass, Workshop, Panel, All-For-One, and Public Space).
  • Assists the Board with their expertise and historical knowledge of the organization.
  • Assist with other duties are requested by the Board.
