Biography - Sophie Callies, Ph.D.

Sophie Callies, Ph.D. has accumulated 20 years of experience in the fields of techno-pedagogical design, cognitive science and learning neuroscience, integration of e-learning solutions, and artificial intelligence and virtual reality (Metaverse) applied to education and training. She has also taught online and face-to-face at college, university and vocational levels. She is currently in charge of distance coaching at TELUQ University for courses in education and psychology.

At Brainiak, Ms. Callies is in charge of online capsule design projects, as well as R&D projects in educational technology. She has taken part in several large-scale projects in technopedagogical design.

Ms. Callies also collaborates with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) on the design of virtual classroom training for civil aviation professionals.

Biography - Cédric Félicité, President

Before co-founding Brainiak Solutions Inc. Mr. Félicité, who holds a master's degree in international law, taught French in Japan. It was during this job that he became interested in learner engagement and learning retention, particularly through the use of game mechanics. In Quebec, he worked as a research assistant and editor for the Réseau francophone sur les Opérations de maintien de la Paix (ROP).

He then focused his career on procurement, first at CIMA+ as coordinator of service offers, then at AXOR as coordinator of calls for tender for the McGill University Health Center's redeployment project on the Glen site in Montreal.

At Brainiak, in addition to managing and administering the company, Mr. Félicité is responsible for the edutainment dimension of workshops and projects. Among other things, he develops scenarios and shoots and post-produces 360˚ videos for educational purposes. In particular, he scripted and designed the ludopersuasive architecture of the “Operation LENTUS, SIM SLO” application as part of the STILPA project for the Department of Defense and the Canadian Armed Forces. He has also designed a 360◦ simulation in emergency paramedicine and is currently conceptualizing a ludopersuasive tool to support learning in differential diagnosis in this field. Finally, he is the creator of Math&Magic, a series of ludopersuasive tools to support learning in mathematics.
