Eligibility
If you do not meet the requirements to be a Certified Member, we encourage you to apply to be a Non-Certified Associate.
Our Non-Certified Associates must meet all of the following requirements:
In pursuit, full- or part-time, of a Canadian standard master’s / graduate-level degree training related to instructional design.
Submit a letter of acceptance for enrolment in a graduate program in instructional design at a recognized Canadian university. Equivalent foreign universities may be recognized.
Paid the annual association fee.

How to Apply
Step 1: Prepare Your Documents
Provide proof of admission or enrollment for the current academic year in a graduate or postgraduate program in instructional design at a recognized Canadian university. The ACCP-CAID may recognize a foreign university offering an equivalent program. We reserve the right to verify the authenticity of the documents and to confirm the validity of the information with the institution in question.
Step 2: Complete the Application
Fill out the application form, attach your required documents, and complete your application fee payment of $25.
Next Steps:
Once we receive your supporting documents, application, & fee, our Evaluation Committee will review your file. Done by volunteers, this process usually takes 2-4 weeks. However, if you have not heard from us within this timeframe, please reach out to us at evaluation@accp-caid.org.
Accepted Applicants
You will receive an email informing you that you have been accepted. This email will also provide you with the actions we require from you to finish your acceptance such as:
- Paying your Non-Certified Associate fee.
- Building your profile.
- Exploring the working committees that you may wish to contribute to.
Unaccepted Applicants
You will receive an email informing you of the result of your evaluation.
If you are not accepted, you may still wish to join our community of practice. You can do so by purchasing Community Access where you gain access to our community benefits.
Annual Renewal
ACCP-CAID uses anniversary date renewal. Your 12 months begins the day you pay your association fees.
You will receive a reminder email shortly before you’re due to renew so you don’t miss out on any our events!
