Biography

Brittany McRae is the Founder and Lead Certified Instructional Designer at AligneDesigns, where she partners with organizations to create customized, learner-centred training solutions that are practical, engaging, and aligned to real workplace needs. With almost 20 years of experience in education, Brittany brings expertise in adult learning, curriculum design, eLearning development, project management, and learning strategy.

Through AligneDesigns, Brittany leads a team of Canadian Certified Instructional Designers who support clients across government, higher education, healthcare, nonprofit, corporate, and workforce development sectors. Her work focuses on transforming complex content into clear, meaningful learning experiences that help learners build skills, apply knowledge, and improve performance in real-world contexts.

Before founding AligneDesigns, Brittany held instructional design, teaching, curriculum development, and learning technology roles with Queen’s University, Loyalist College, Ontario Learn through St. Lawrence College, and school boards in Alberta and Ontario. She has designed and developed online, blended, and instructor-led learning solutions for a wide range of audiences, including post-secondary learners, professionals, frontline workers, faculty, instructors, community organizations, and industry partners.

Brittany also contributes to the instructional design profession through her role on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Association of Instructional Designers. She is passionate about helping organizations move beyond information delivery to create learning experiences that are purposeful, inclusive, and genuinely useful.
