Satish Kumar Kotha

YEARS OF SERVICE: 2025-Present

Satish Kumar Kotha is an Instructional Designer with the Engineering Teaching and Learning Team at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He brings over a decade of experience in higher education, instructional design, and educational technology, developed across India, the United States, and Canada.

Satish holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, and a Graduate Diploma in Learning and Technology. He is currently pursuing the Professional Master of Education (PME) at Queen’s University. His interdisciplinary and multicultural background enriches his approach to design, collaboration, and service.

His professional focus centers on creating inclusive, competency-based, and experiential learning environments that foster student engagement and authentic assessment. Satish is also deeply involved in initiatives related to problem-based learning (PBL) and the thoughtful integration of generative artificial intelligence in teaching and learning.

He is committed to advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, Indigeneity, and accessibility (EDIIA) in higher education and brings this perspective to his work with CAID and the instructional design community.
