Marcelle Parr

YEARS OF SERVICE: 2017 – PRESENT

Marcelle has been a dedicated member of the Board of Directors for 7 years. She held the Treasurer position from 2017-2021 and has been serving as President since 2023. She is leading significant change in our organization through revitalization efforts and identifying efficiencies in the way we complete our work.

Marcelle has been working in education for over 30 years. She has been a teacher, educational advisor, and assistant principal, and has served as the work-study and evaluation coordinator at the Quebec Ministry of Education and the research and development manager at the Quebec Distance Education Society. She has been a professor in the bachelor’s program in vocational and technical education at the Université du Québec à Montréal and in master studies at the Université de Sherbrooke. She is now a distance learning professor at the Université du Québec à Rimouski. Currently an education consultant, she has always been interested in self-directed learning and self-directed education, which she has adapted to work-study programs, individualized teaching, and distance learning.
