Board of Director’s Positions & Duties

Below is a general overview of each Board position’s roles and responsibilities. For a complete listing, please see our by-laws.

  • The president officially represents the Association and is its sole official spokesperson.
  • They call and preside over meetings.
  • They are an ex-officio member of all committees except the election committee.
  • The president presents an annual report of the activities of the Association at the annual general meeting.
  • The vice-president assists the president and management to achieve the objectives set by the Association.
  • They are required to assume the functions of the president as if needed.
  • The vice-president replaces the president in all functions of that position whenever the president is absent or unable to fulfill his or her duties.
  • The secretary prepares and signs the minutes of Board meetings and the annual general meeting, and ensures that they are provided to Members.
  • They assume responsibility for maintaining the archives, documents, and records of the Association, with the exception of those relating to financial matters.
  • The secretary acts as secretary at all meetings.
  • They ensure that notices of meetings and any other notices are communicated to the officers and other Members of the Association.
  • The treasurer is responsible for the use of the funds, assets, and securities of the Association.
  • They maintain the books and records relating to the financial operations of the Association.
  • They ensure that bills are paid and monies owed to the Association are collected.
  • They are responsible for the safekeeping of all the Association’s accounting records.
  • They maintains the list of Members, Associates, & Community Access lists.
  • They manage the preparation and distribution of Member Certificates and Seals.
  • They contribute to the performance of all tasks necessary to fulfill the association’s mission.
  • They assist with technologies used by the Board and ACCP-CAID business including managing the website and technology infrastructure.
  • They plan, organize, prepare and run ACCP-CAID events (Masterclass, Workshop, Panel, All For One, and Public Space).
  • They contribute and execute the ACCP-CAID communication plan and prepare communications for distribution with memberMembers, Associates, & Community Access (Email and social media).
  • Assists the Board with their expertise and historical knowledge of the organization.
  • Assist with other duties are requested by the Board.

Elections

The Board of Director’s elections occur at the Annual General Meeting which is held annually in October.

All Board Members (with the exception of Past President) are elected for two-year terms.

  • Elected in even-numbered years: President, Secretary, Members at Large 1, 3, 5

  • Elected in odd-numbered years: Vice-President, Treasurer, and Members at Large 2, 4
